Dennis Group partnered with this leading pet food manufacturer to execute a series of simultaneous capacity and quality improvement projects across four of their U.S. facilities.
In Topeka, Kansas, Dennis Group oversaw the installation of two new hammermill systems for mixed meal and its distribution to four extruder lines, including integration with pre-mix bins and preconditioners. Mechanical and pneumatic systems were also modified to optimize flow from mixing through extrusion.
In Decatur, Alabama, a new 5-ton dry mixing system was installed alongside a controls upgrade to Rockwell ControlLogix. Dennis Group reconfigured packaging lines to accommodate high-speed baggers for both large and small formats and conducted a study for a new five-story ingredient distribution, mixing, and milling complex.
At the Meadville, Pennsylvania plant, Dennis Group developed a site masterplan to increase warehouse storage capacity and reconfigured packaging lines to improve flow between small and large bag formats by replacing outdated bundlers.
And in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, the minor liquids and cooking processes to improve steam and moisture control were automated. Dennis Group also designed a new packaging distribution system and implemented upgrades including new bundlers and conveyance to the palletizing area.
