Dennis Group served as the design-builder for Carla’s original facility on a 19-acre site which housed three frozen pasta and sauce production lines, as well as the expansion. Carla’s manufactured hundreds of SKUs, and flexibility was key on this project.
In the newest $35M expansion, Dennis Group added three new automated processing lines, upgraded the utilities, and added additional dry storage space. An AS/RS freezer for finished product was also later added.
Hygienic zones are strictly segmented in this facility so that raw and cooked areas are connected only through conveyor wall penetrations. Two separate employee entrances ensure personnel don’t cross-contaminate zones.
