Greenfield Protein Plant

Dennis Group was selected as the design-build partner on a new facility for Infinity Meat Solutions, a subsidiary of Ahold-Delhaize’s Retail Business Services. The facility specializes in primal and sub-primal cutting and portioning of pork and beef, as well as prep for meal items, such as marinated and stuffed meat. It has the capacity to service 500 stores, with its primary customers being Peapod online grocery service and Stop & Shop supermarket chain. Cargill Protein consulted on the construction of the facility, since they will operate it and manage the workforce.

Dennis Group led the site-selection efforts, which resulted in 12 short-listed sites across five states. The final site selected in Rhode Island provided approximately $2M in tax credits to fund the construction. Additionally, the company is eligible for almost $1M annually in qualified jobs incentives for 10 years if they meet target hiring benchmarks.

The facility has a grind line, as well as 13 processing and packaging lines, with the potential to add four more lines in the future.
