Converting an existing facility for peanut butter production

A major food manufacturer restructured its operations to consolidate production of a fruit-based product at a new site, allowing for a strategic repurposing of the existing plant. Rather than shutter the original plant, the company opted to expand its growing peanut butter operations.

Dennis Group delivered full design-build services for the facility conversion, which included significant building modifications and a 100-foot-high expansion to support additional roasting capabilities. New rail receiving infrastructure was installed to accommodate bulk peanut shipments and mitigate supply chain risk.

To maintain food safety standards, HACCP zoning was implemented to separate raw and roasted peanut processing areas. The facility now produces both retail peanut butter and bulk peanut butter for ingredients. Notably, it houses one of the world’s fastest peanut butter filling lines.
