Dennis Group designed and constructed a new facility to convert stillage into animal feed at Diageo’s bourbon distillery in Kentucky.
To avoid schedule delays, long-lead equipment was identified during project definition efforts. The dryer, cooler, centrifuges, and evaporator were all procured prior to the start of construction in order to maintain a fast-track schedule.
The delicate process requires separation of solid / liquid streams before the stillage is dried and re-blended for animal consumption. In addition to process design, Dennis Group was also responsible for the design and construction of the four-story stand-along structure that housed this new production line, as well as all supporting electrical, mechanical, and utility systems. The building was located in the midst of Diageo’s operational Shelbyville campus for ease of operation and maintenance.
