Expansion for cocoa processing capacity

Dennis Group partnered with Olam to deliver a major capacity expansion that positions the company to meet projected demand for the next decade.

The project involved retrofitting Olam’s existing process area and expanding the facility to accommodate a new reactor used in the alkalization process, which darkens cocoa powder to a rich black color. Dennis Group also supported the construction of a new building dedicated to the degumming and deodorization of cocoa butter—further enhancing Olam’s processing capabilities.

Dennis Group provided extensive automation services including the integration of an Aveva System Platform and development of a robust batching system to ensure consistent product quality. All dry ingredient transfer was performed via dilute phase conveying. Through PLC programming, I/O checkout, and startup support, Dennis Group delivered a comprehensive controls solution. The result is a highly efficient facility designed for long-term growth and increased production flexibility.
