Family-owned Zachary Confections holds the distinction of being the only facility in the United States to manufacture candy corn—making the weeks leading up to October their busiest time of year. To expand production and diversify their capabilities, Zachary partnered with Dennis Group to convert 25,000 square feet of warehouse space into a fully functional gummi manufacturing area.

The renovation included installation of a new kitchen, mogul, stoving room, and packaging line, all designed for high efficiency and automation. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) transport trays between equipment and ovens, allowing the entire process to operate with minimal staffing. Because starch molding presents unique dust explosion risks, all starch-handling spaces were engineered to meet Class II, Division 2 safety requirements.
